Suey. Box. Twenty-one.

If you've never played: two boxes, twenty-one feet apart, three washers a turn. It takes a minute to learn and a lifetime of Sunday afternoons to master.

Proven, not planned

This system has already run two tournaments

The software running this site ran the family day in July and the Founders Tournament at Mike's Beer Garden in August. Every timing estimate below comes from games we actually played and timed, not from a spreadsheet guess.

Tournaments run

A family day of eleven teams and the sixteen-team Founders event, both scored live on this engine, both finished with a champion crowned on the board.

Games scored live

Pools, brackets, standings, and tiebreaks, all settled by the same engine that will run the Classic.

Why we play

For Ruby. With the whole family.

“Every family has a centre of gravity. Ours is 101 years old, still wins at cards, and throws the first washer of the tournament.”

The Classic is official: August 2027

Seven summers of family washer toss on the Miramichi taught us two things: the chirping is permanent, and the tradition is too good to keep to ourselves. Ruby's Washer Toss Classic goes public next August. Seventy-two teams, a dozen lanes, cash prizes, and a banner with room for fifty years of names. The interest list is open now; founding teams get first call when registration opens in spring.

Pre-orders open for the Official 2027 Tee

The inaugural shirt, hoodie, camp hat, and the numbered edition-of-100 poster are open for pre-order. Everything is pickup-at-the-event, and orders close three weeks before tournament day when the print run locks.

Sponsor and vendor books are open

Twelve lane sponsorships, a midway with room for six vendors, and one presenting-sponsor spot. Local businesses who want in on year one: the packages page has the details, and year-one partners keep first right of renewal.

Get on the list

Registration opens spring 2027 with 72 spots. The interest list hears first: teams, sponsors, vendors, and anyone who just wants a good Saturday.

Event updates only. No spam; Ruby wouldn't stand for it.
